TLC Book Tours Book Review: Sleepless In Manhattan

About Sleepless in Manhattan

Mass Market Paperback: 384 pages
Publisher: HQN Books (May 31, 2016)
USA TODAY bestselling author Sarah Morgan introduces a sizzling new trilogy about three best friends embracing life—and love—in Manhattan
Cool, calm and competent, events planner Paige Walker loves a challenge. After a childhood spent in and out of hospitals, she’s now determined to prove herself—and where better to take the world by storm than in the exhilarating bustle of Manhattan? But when Paige is let go from the job she loves, she must face her biggest challenge of all—going it alone.
Except launching her own events company is nothing compared to hiding her outrageous crush on Jake Romano—her brother’s best friend, New York’s most in-demand date, and the only man to break her heart. When Jake offers Paige’s fledgling company a big chance, their still-sizzling chemistry starts giving her sleepless nights. But can she convince the man who trusts no one to take a chance on forever?

Review: Whenever there is a new Sarah Morgan book out I get excited. Sarah is one of my favorite authors ever. Her romances are smart, funny, sweet and just all around fun to read.

This is an extension of her Puffin series, moving the characters to NYC.

Sleepless in Manhattan made my day. I loved the friendship between Paige, Eva and Frankie. I'm always envious of book besties, because I only have one really close friend in my life and I've always longed for that "Friends" kind of life. (Or at the very least the Coupling kind of life) These are the ladies that will feature in the other books in this series too. (I'm super excited for those books too)

Jake is a bit of player. The reason why he and Paige haven't hooked up, (and there's been chemistry there for a long time) is a bit cliche. He's her brother's best friend and Matt made him promise to leave his sister alone. That plot line has been done many times before. Add it with a helping of Paige declaring her love to him in a very dramatic way years before, puts bad blood between them. Again, this storyline has been done before. Its old hat, but it works here, and it doesn't feel old hat.

You love Paige and she's had a lot of challenges that have brought her to wear she is. She had health problems in her early life and she wants to be strong and independent and not coddled.

I adored this book as I do all of Sarah's books. They make me deliriously happy.
