Alexandra
I thought I finally had my life figured out. Fate? Destiny? I know mine. But one afternoon questioned everything I thought I knew.
Then it happened. Dr. Jason Dupree crashed into my life.
His eyes linger on me longer than they should in polite company. You see, there is nothing polite about him.
He’s arrogant and overconfident. His touch? It’s my undoing.
I let him know in no uncertain terms that he is not the man for me.
He is not my destiny.
And his reaction? Totally unexpected.

Jason
The things in my life that matter to me? It’s a short list. My career, a handful of family and friends. To call myself unlucky in love would be a gross understatement. Hence my list. It’s how I keep it all figured out.
Then one morning, that safe little list collides with my future.
Her eyes follow me everywhere, and they see through me like a soul x-ray. But it’s her touch that nearly brings me to my knees.
She doesn’t see it, though.

She’s full of denial and sass, and her stares are indignant. She’s a liar too. Telling me she’s interested in another man.
My reaction? Let’s just say she never saw it coming.

Desperate to escape the responsibility that came with her gypsy roots, Bella buries her head in books and does everything she can to hide her true identity.
Hunter was born to fight and win, but fighting for Bella is a losing battle from the very beginning.

When she is forced to marry a monster, will she take a chance on love and see beneath the beast, or will she run away and turn her back on everything she knows?

If you enjoy angsty love stories and need to know what happens when love is unrequited, you’ll love this new adult, Beauty and the Beast retelling.

Review: Bookish Princess was probably the story I was most looking forward to reading. I wish I could say it lived up to its expectations for me, but it didn't. I'm not saying that its a bad story, but it didn't do justice to  "Beauty And the Beast" the tale that it is retelling.

For me Hunter wasn't a beast..and Bella/Imogen wasn't the Belle I imagine. To be perfectly honest, I hated Bella/ Imogen and her secrets. I couldn't quite wrap my head around it. It takes part of the original Beauty and the Beast and melds it with the Disney version in some aspects. Basically it goes Belle and her love of books, meets Beauty who must marry a man not of her choosing. In the modern world?

I was confused at first by Hunter. His profession made me think he was going to be the "Gaston" of the story. He was really in no way a "Beast." Mostly he was the typical romance novel "alpha male."

Then there's Addy, who is an absolute jerk. I can't imagine why Bella even went out with him, bff dating his friend or not.

I kept on, because I couldn't figure out how the love/hate thing with Bella and Hunter was going to play out. I wanted something romantic. It didn't deliver there either.

I'm not saying its a bad story, because it did have its moments, or I wouldn't have finished it. It just didn't work as well for me, especially as I have loved almost all of this series.

Modern Princesses Release Blast: Rebel Princess

REBEL PRINCESS by Lynn Stevens is a modern romance retelling of the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Fans of military romance, sweet love, and coming of age stories will enjoy this new adult romance. The next installment of the Modern Princess Collection is now LIVE!

I was born to rebel.

Against love. Against authority. Against myself.

Perfect precision, that’s how I planned my life. Dancing was my whole world. I wanted to be in the spotlight with all eyes on me, but recently, my heart’s pulled me in a different direction. Writing for the school paper has excited me in a way dance never has. Exposing truths trumps pirouettes and countless hours in the studio and being true to myself is more important than keeping dangerous secrets hidden.

Getting close to Colin and his lacrosse buddies allowed me access to their secrets—but I had no idea how deep they went. On the brink of exposing them, I was set back. No sources, no

boyfriend, and no way to get justice. No matter which angle I pursued, my story kept getting shut down.

Until I met the guy with the scars. The one who helped me when I didn’t know what to do or who to turn to. He came into my life out of nowhere, saved me, and taught me to believe in myself. Then, when I finally did, he didn’t believe in me. I had to stand on my own two feet, fight for my values and for what I needed—for what I had earned—and learn that justice always comes with a cost.

Review: I have to say this was a really great read. Its a retelling of the Hunchback, but to me its more a good story, because I didn't quite see a lot of the connections with the original book..and also..Victor Hugo and fluffy romance....not exactly good bedfellows.

I will say I loved Emmy and her ideals. She has a reckless pursuit of a story no matter what the cost be it to her or to other people and that includes herself as we see from the start of the story. She's working on a story to expose the schools lacrosse team, one of which is a very nasty ex boyfriend.

As her relationship with Quinn develops, she starts to really uncover her passion, which is journalism, not dance. These two were perfect together. The only thing that didn't really fit for me was the placement of the sex scene between these two. It didn't gel with me, at least at the part of the story. It felt like it was there just so the story would have a sex scene

I think of all the books in this series this one is probably one of my favorites.

Modern Princesses Release Tour: Book Review: Right Princess

Autumn Archer’s modern Princess and the Pea retelling follows Ada in her search for the right guy in RIGHT PRINCESS. Readers who love friends to lovers will love this new adult romance. The next installment of the Modern Princess Collection is now LIVE!

Only on Amazon + Read for FREE on Kindle Unlimited!

♛ Amazon ➝ https://amzn.to/2Vf6RIH
♛ Goodreads ➝ https://bit.ly/2WJrlf2

Ada is the daughter of jewelery designer royalty. An age-old contract stipulates that as she is the next in line to take over the family legacy, she must marry wealth. Ada goes to Camelot for both education & to find a suitor. She attends incognito as doesn't want people to know who she is.

Theo Hunter is the bar manager of The Reef and becomes her best friend. They do everything together. He dates a string of women bc he can’t find the right girl... even though he knows Ada is that girl ... but she’s infatuated with her roomie's big brother, Ro Huxley.

Ro Huxley will inherit billions. He’s the captain of the football team and drop-dead gorgeous...the ideal candidate for marriage but is he the right one for Ada?

Review: Back at Camelot U we have another wealthy girl on the lookout for her prince charming. In a take on the Princess and the Pea, Ada is well...a bit irksome, but also her shallow weirdness is suitable as a college age girl, in that can't see your nose in front of your face kinda way that young girls often are.

She has an insane crush on her roomie's brother, and said brother is really a douche canoe, albeit a hot one. Theo is her boss at the bar, and just a few years older. Its obvious that he has feelings for her too, yet getting Ada to change her focus from one guy to the other is kinda like talking to a brick wall.

She's obsessed with Ro.

Again, that's typical young girl behavior, so I won't fault it, too much. I think we've all been there.

This is a friends to lovers romance, but I have to say, the characters are all a bit hard to like at times. Ro is a douche but this near 46 year old remembers her 20 something self and I know that at that age, you oftentimes only care about a guy being gorgeous and not about the important stuff, like, is he a nice guy or is he a neanderthal.

Theo is a tad more likable, but he is prone to tantrums which got to be annoying because he never told Ada how he felt.

Of the Modern Princesses books, I'd say this one is definitely geared more towards a younger audience. Yes any group can read it, but its hard to identify with these prince and princesses.

Its still a fun story if you are a new adult fan and if you really love fairy tale retellings.

Excerpt Blast: Midnight Call Girl

Take a peek inside Vivian, Midnight Call Girl by Danielle Norman! Pre-order yours today!

Title: Vivian, Midnight Call Girl (Iron Orchids)

Age Group: Adult

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: June 2, 2020

Blurb:
Drunk dialing at it's finest...

All it took was a couple bottles of champagne...
And a fully charged cellphone,
For me to go from widow to call girl.
Talking to a stranger in the middle of the night was the push I needed.
To feel something again.
Something safe.

It’s not like I will ever run into him.
We don’t even know each other... yet.
Aaron Skye returns my call the next day,
Sending my well-ordered world for a spin.
Now I'm sober.

After years in the shadows,
I'm starting to feel alive. A sense of normalcy.
Unfortunately Aaron is not who I had imagined.
And his life is anything but normal.

Can I put the phone down and step into his world long enough to realize,
That what started out as careless whispers has smoldered into something more?
A wrong number, could be my Mr. Right.

EXCERPT:
As I walked by the buffet table that was nestled right by the doorway, I stopped and grabbed an open bottle of champagne before leaving the room. I needed it after this major clusterfuck. I stopped, leaned back in and grabbed a second bottle just to be safe then strolled for the elevator as I took a long swig off the first bottle. The bubbles tingled my nose but the cool alcohol was refreshing, I was sweating like a whore in church with all of these damn ruffles.

Pressing seven, I tried to drink the entire time the elevator climbed. When the doors opened, I stomped to my room, pissed beyond all belief. How dare these women make a mockery out of marriage. I loved being married, I was a good wife. God, I missed waking up next to him.

I locked my room and then kicked off my shoes, one going left and no clue where the right one went, and started to wiggle out of my dress. There was no way in hell that I wanted to put one of these bottles down so instead I did some fancy moves, like the shoulder drop, the twist, and even the pony, the only thing missing was music.

When I was finally free of the taffeta monstrosity, I did my best rendition of Tom Cruise in Risky Business. Using my panty hose clad feet to give me a slide across the not-one-bit-shaggy carpeted floor. I used the bottle as my mic and sang about some Old Time Rock ’N Roll. I kept singing and practicing my slide until I had finished the first bottle. I swayed a little before I tossed it to the floor and then a brilliant beyond brilliant idea hit me, I needed to call Erin.

Ohh, I missed Erin so much. She was Eric’s twin sister, since he died Erin and I still talked about everything and I mean everything but just not as often as we used too. I’m going to call her right now.

“Stay right there, don’t move,” I said to the second bottle of champagne as I set it on the nightstand.

“Phone, oh phone, where did I put you?” I called.

I wondered if I could yodel, “Phone-o-ne-o.” Nailed it.

There it is, I found you, you little fucker. I snagged my phone from the pocket of my dress and then turned back to the bed. Ooo, head spinning. Carefully I crawled onto the bed, grabbed the bottle of champagne that had been sitting all alone and took a sip before scrolling through my phone for Erin’s number.
