Dear BOMC2,

I love you dearly. You send me a hardcover book every month for only $10.55. I can buy as many books as I want at that price too.

However you are a tease.

You send me an email today saying that "You remembered that its my anniversary."

Yup I've been a member for a year now. I'm glad you sent me an email telling me that, but couldn't you have enclosed a coupon or something in celebration? But no, you just send me a plain ole' boring email.

You make me sad.

Should I Read This

How many of you have got that email from Shelfari?

I hate those! And every one I get is for the same book, Alice Sebold's The Lovely Bones.

I hated that book, therefore it isn't one I'd recommend.

It would only take a few clicks of the mouse to see my feelings on the book. Just read my review!!!

Mind you, I'm apparently in the minority, just as I am with The Twilight Saga. (Hate those too)

Why not read the reviews and make a decision? It would be the most intelligent thing to do. I mean I could list all the reasons I didn't like the book in a response to this email, but there's someone else out there that can list all the reason's they love it.

Don't You Hate It

When you end up getting 2 copies of the same book?

Every year, I order the Harlequin Christmas collections, because I love Christmas stories. I can't get enough of them! I get the Harlequin Romance Collection of books by Mira and HQN and this month they had Heather Graham's Home In Time For Christmas which was out in hard cover last year.

So I now have two copies of the book and I don't know what to do. Plus I'm a little aggravated that I had to pay for the same book twice.

That annoys me, especially when there are so many other books released by these lines.

At least it isn't part of the Christmas series of books again, because I've put my order in for those 16 books.

Why Can't They Sell Them In The US?

I'm sick to death of having to order the Doctor Who books from online retailers. Why can't they distribute them in the US? BBC America plays the show here and it does well. Why not the books? I'm sure that all the Who fans would probably buy them. They buy the Star Wars books etc.

I can get no instant gratification when it comes to Doctor Who.

I have to wait weeks between the times the shows air in the UK to the US. I think we're now a month behind, the new series having ended weeks ago in the UK and we still have 3 episodes left.

Barnes and Noble claims that you can find them in the store, but I've looked many times and have never once found one.

Maybe it's me.

Maybe the Doctor is avoiding me.

If he is, I will have to sulk and dig out more audio books that David Tennant has read.

Have I mentioned lately how much I miss David Tennant? Not totally as the Doctor, because I really love Matt Smith, but just his beautiful self that is no longer on my tv screen.

All Blazed Out

I love Harlequin's Blaze line. I read a lot of their books. This month I think I've read 10 of them, however I think I've hit the too much of a good thing point though, because the last one I read just fell totally flat with me.

So when looking through my massive "to be read" pile, I dug up something a little different. More plot, less humping, because seriously the last Blaze I read was a bit short on plot, which for the most part is not the case with these books. Sure they are steamy but they never lack for a good storyline too.

So now I'm working on Jennifer Weiner's Little Earthquakes. She's an author I've heard about from friends and from online buzz. Hopefully it will clear my head of the last book so I can jump into my Blaze books again, because I haven't read the new Samantha Hunter which I won this month, and I'd hate to be too burned out to enjoy that one. I love Sam's books and maybe that was the problem with the last one I read, it was an author I've never read before. I like Sam's books, Hope Tarr, Tawny Webber, Leslie Kelly....maybe I should stick with the familiar? But then again what fun would that be?

I think after I finish this book, I'll get around to Janet Evanovich's last Stephanie Plum novel, which I haven't read, even though I've owned it for about a year?

What do you do when your favorite line of books leaves you disappointed?

The Most Evil Coupon Ever

About 3 times a week I get emails from Books-A-Million, my favorite book store chain. There's one problem. The two stores that are in my area are both about 50 miles away. One is located in Morgantown, WV and the other in Triadelphia, WV near Wheeling.

~sigh~

So when I get coupons like this one when there's over a foot of snow on the ground, I get cranky.

See I have a theory about Books-A-Million and their super awesome coupons. They send them out when there's absolutely no way that I can go, either because of the weather (2 ft of snow on the ground and counting) or because no one else wants to go, and I don't drive that far on my own.

Oh and how about that coffee coupon there, as an added taunt to make me aggravated.

One last thing, I have a $25 Gift Card and this would get me a bonus book for my card. It sucks that it can't be used online.
