Book Blurb: After eighteen years, Matthias Laing has snagged the woman of his dreams. They're past the misunderstandings of high school and are settling into a relationship, but his job as a vet keeps getting him into trouble.

The appearance of a kitten in Toni's yard puts her and Matthias at odds. Jade, her five-year-old daughter, is drawn to animals and wants to keep the cat. The situation is past complicated, because there's also Ridley—the resident pet who catches a case of jealousy, Jade's abandoned fish and to top it all, the conflict between Matthias and Jade's father.

Can Matthias and Toni's budding romance survive their assortment of problems and if it doesn't, will Toni's precocious five-year-old find a way to play Cupid and fix things by Valentine's Day?

Review: This is a super cute story about a couple working at a relationship with a lot of things going on to prevent a happily ever after.

Matthias is a pretty good guy. He's a vet and he's good with Toni's daughter and her pets. He's one of those guys you can only describe as perfect. He wants what's best for "His Lady."

I don't know about you, but I love when guys call their girlfriend, significant other their lady. I love how protective he is with Toni and with Jade. He's so good with the little girl.

Jade is absolutely precious and she's really a character in this story. She's a good fur baby mama. She loves her dog Ridley and now her kittey Murphy.

The villain here is Toni's ex, Dane who is really a jerk. He's jealous of Toni's relationship with Matthias and Matthias' relationship with Jade.  There's a lot of conflict in this story with Dane and there are times when you aren't sure what he's up to.

This is a sweet romance and part of a series. I want to go back and read The Vet's Christmas Pet to see how Matthias and Toni got together.

I look forward to reading more of Matthias and Toni's story.
