Review: I always think I've read more of Jill Shalvis' books than I have. I don't know why I've only read a few of her books, because most of them that I've read, I've enjoyed. They fall under the "feel good" category of reads.This book had so many laugh out loud moments. Gosh I loved Alyssa and Mia and Mark's twins. Oh and the little anxiety tidbits at the start of each chapter were a hoot, mostly because I identified with almost all of them.
OK, I have to admit, I loved all the characters. That doesn't happen often for me, but with this book, everyone was great! I especially liked the twins Sam and Sierra, who were essentially cuteness overload. They could be a bit much for some readers, I'll admit, but for me, they were adorable.
Lanie was fabulous and so was River. I really couldn't find anything much to complain about here, except maybe Lanie's convoluted dearly departed husband, who had more wives than he had brains.
I couldn't understand Lanie's not telling people about what happened to her. Oh and anyone else feel like her mom was much like Mrs. Hoffstetter on Big Bang Theory? Though it was nice of her to become more sympathetic to her towards the end.
It was pretty easy to know who River was from the start, though what she was planning wasn't exactly what I was thinking when she was introduced.
The only thing that kept this from being a perfect read was the romance. I know, I know that's weird, but the romance felt incidental here and I expected more wives of Kyle's to turn up or even something that explained his polygamy, other than what we learned at the end.
This was fluffy fun summertime read that will make you fell warm and fuzzy after you finish it.
