Things To Do When Your Nook Battery Died

Last week I was left high and dry by a wonky battery in my Nook wifi. I still hadn't acquired any protection for my Nook Color, so I was only reading off that device when I was home.

Here are some tips on how to survive until a replacement battery arrives from B & N.

1. Read physical books. (This is hard when your nook as all the galleys you want to read NOW)

2. Try to find a place that sells the batteries so you can have a spare, just in case.

3. Attempt to read books on the computer or on your smartphone. (This is very annoying IMO and drains the smartphone battery)

4. Organize your bookshelves.

5. Attempt many times over to charge the battery, even though there's no way in hell it will charge, because it is deader than spam.

6. Add more books to your wishlist at B & N on the website, since you can't do it on your NOOK Because your battery is DEAD!

7. Practice replacing the battery and pray that you don't lose that little screw when you do.

Things I Learned About My Two Nooks Today

~ I think there should be a cute word when discussing the plural of Nook. Nooks doesn't sound write, or at least it doesn't fun.

~ I spent 1 year not having my wifi set up for the Nook until I had to set it up for my Nookcolor. How sad is that?

~ The shop feature is different on my home network than on the ATT Wifi. Does that make any sense to any of you?

~ The Nookcolor is awesome for video. This thing has a great screen for such a small device. I could so watch TV on this.

What I haven't learned is how the lending feature works and what books are lendable. How sad is this? I've only had the Color for a few days, but my Wifi is almost a year old.

I'm determined to really play with my toys this weekend and figure out the features that still confuse me. Oh and maybe play some Angry Birds!

My Birthday Present Arrived!!!

I'm so excited!!

I bought my little wifi Nook last year a few months before they announced the release of the color. I fell in love with that ereader on the spot.

I can't wait to get some time to play with it. And play angry birds on it.

Yeah, I'm an angry birds addict!!

Now I have to buy a cute case for my new Nookcolor! Wouldn't want it to feel left out, since my wifi has a pretty pink jacket and a blue silicone cover.

Cheap Ebooks

I'm addicted to buying eBooks. It is a good thing I bought the Nook Wifi, so that it isn't always connected to Barnes and Noble! However, everytime I go to Starbucks I end up buying a book for my Nook.

Here's what I bought on my last two Starbuck's trips

Each book was 99 cents! The only other way I could get a book that cheap would be at Goodwill or at Paradox Books in Wheeling. I think they were a pretty good bargain!

I Got My Nook!!

I'm so excited! I got my Nook today after much deliberation if I should go ahead and splurge.

I bought the cheaper of the two versions. Now I have to go to Starbucks to  register it...or some other wifi hotspot.

I'm just so excited that I can get ARC books for 54 days to read on my nook from netgallery! More books for me to read! My nook already has about 20 books on it!

I'll be doing a little happy dance now, as I download some more books to fill it. I really really like it!!!
