Review:  If you have a few hours to kill and you need a read that will make every hour worth it, this is definitely the book to choose.

Its a quick read but its packed with all sorts of wonderful stuff. I mean the two main characters are jewel thieves It really can't get much better than that. Its like White Collar with sex and by sex I mean hot, smoking, you'll need a cold shower after you read this, sex.

The plot is pure fantasy, but what a fantasy it is. 1 sexy jewel thief and 1 19 year old virgin with her own agenda. Valentine is smart and sassy and fabulous and Dutch is a whole lot of alpha wonderfulness.

This book grabs you from the very first page and it won't let you go until you finish.

I can't wait to read more by Madison!

Historical Fiction Virtual Tours Book Spotlight: We Shall See The Sky Sparkling

We Shall See the Sky Sparkling
by Susana Aikin

Publication Date: January 29, 2019
Kensington Publishing Corporation
Paperback & eBook; 416 Pages
Genre: Historical Fiction
Set in London and Russia at the turn of the century, Susana Aikin's debut introduces a vibrant young woman determined to defy convention and shape an extraordinary future. Like other well-bred young women in Edwardian England, Lily Throop is expected to think of little beyond marriage and motherhood. Passionate about the stage, Lily has very different ambitions. To her father's dismay, she secures an apprenticeship at London's famous Imperial Theatre. Soon, her talent and beauty bring coveted roles and devoted admirers. Yet to most of society, the line between actress and harlot is whisper-thin. With her reputation threatened by her mentor's vicious betrayal, Lily flees to St. Petersburg with an acting troupe--leaving her first love behind. Life in Russia is as exhilarating as it is difficult. The streets rumble with talk of revolution, and Lily is drawn into an affair with Sergei, a Count with fervent revolutionary ideals. Following Sergei when he is banished to Vladivostok, Lily struggles to find her role in an increasingly dangerous world. And as Russian tensions with Japan erupt into war, only fortitude and single-mindedness can steer her to freedom and safety at last. With its sweeping backdrop and evocative details, We Shall See the Sky Sparkling explores a fascinating period in history through the eyes of a strong-willed, singular heroine, in a moving story of love and resilience.

Praise

"Aikin’s novel is expertly plotted and rife with historical details in both its English and Russian settings, making for a rich story of the prejudices women faced at the turn of the 20th century and how the class disparity in Russia ignited the flame of revolution." - Publishers Weekly "Beginning and ending with letters written to her family, this novel has the feel of a serial drama. Readers of Pam Jenoff and Eva Stachniak will appreciate the strong-willed and artistically driven female character who finds her own way through difficult times." - Library Journal ". . . vivid and compelling - an exceptional woman on an extraordinary journey . . ." ~ Livi Michael, Author of War of the Roses Trilogy "Against the dramatic backdrops of a Russia on the brink of revolution and the colorful lives backstage of the London theatre circuit, Susana Aikin has created a feisty Edwardian protagonist whose trajectory still resonates with the predicament of women working in the arts today." ~ Sara Alexander, Under a Sardinian Sky and Four Hundred and Forty Steps to the Sea "We Shall See the Sky Sparkling kept me up at night until blurry eyed, cheering Lily on through all her wild adventures, until she becomes one of those rare heroines, a mature independent woman to admire." ~ Melissa Burch, Author of My Journey Through War and Peace "Susana Aikin's directorial eye is much in evidence in this sweeping saga. Her attention to period detail transports the reader on a filmic journey that is both astonishing and tragic. We Shall See the Sky Sparkling is a powerful meditation on the sacrifices women have made in pursuit of their dreams - sadly, as relevant in the early 21st century as a hundred years ago." ~ Helen Steadman, Best-selling Author of Widdershins and Sunwise "We Shall See the Sky Sparkling is a vivid, thoroughly absorbing account of one woman's struggle to break from the rigid roles her social class and time period. Drawing from her family's history and a series of fascinating letters, Aikin crafts a marvelous tale of adventure, rebellion, and romance, on a captivating journey from the theaters of Edwardian London to tumultuous St. Petersburg and beyond. Lily shines as a heroine of uncommon strength--her struggle to protect and foster her independence , even as she navigates through great loves and treacherous times, is to be relished and remembered." ~ Suzanne Nelson, Author of Serendipity Footsteps

Great Escapes Book Tours Book Review: Running From Arrows

Running from Arrows (A Running Store Mystery) by T.C. Wescott

About the Book

Cozy Mystery/Romance/Humor 2nd in Series
Better Mousetrap Books (January 7, 2019)
Print Length: 192 pages
Digital ASIN: B07KDYFYKB

One of Lacy's beaus has a bow. Unlike Cupid, his arrows kill. There's more than romance in the air this Valentine's Day!
Running from Arrows is the fun, twist-filled, romantic cozy mystery romp you've been waiting for!
Valentine's Day is coming up and Lacy is single. If that's not bad enough, she has a secret admirer. Is it the compassionate, haunted detective, the ruggedly handsome businessman, the suave maƮtre de, the guy in her running group who likes to stare, or maybe someone who's not on her radar? She'll find out soon enough because he's invited her to dinner. Now the question isn't how long Lacy will remain single but how long she'll remain alive.
During the Sweetheart Run through the town of Cedar Mill a fellow runner is murdered and a notorious burglar called the Black Cat is found dead with an arrow sticking out of him. Somehow these strange murders are connected to the ladies of Run For It - Lacy the divorcee, Stax the quirky bookseller, and Ruby the old-time mystery novelist. They're back in a race against time to catch an invisible killer and exonerate an innocent man!
If you love a delicious mystery dripping with romance, humor, and chills - and a Valentine's Day dinner no reader will ever forget - then buy Running from Arrows now and run it right to the top of your TBR pile!
You'll want to tell all your friends about Running from Arrows, but whatever you do, DON'T TELL THE SECRET OF THE SECRET ADMIRER.
Running from Arrows is part two in a series but can be read as a stand-alone.
Review: Running From Arrows is the second book in a series, but not to worry, it works as a stand alone and its a great quick read for cozy mystery lovers, especially those of us that enjoy holiday themed books.

This book is full of quirky characters and can easily be read in one afternoon with a nice cup of your favorite hot beverage at your side.

I loved Ruby, Stax and Lacy. Three sleuths and they all bring something different to the table. Ruby is a former mystery writer,  Lacy works in insurance and Stax owns a bookshop. So you have three very different people, but they work together well, even when things try to separate them. (Nope, I won't spoil things)

It also had more going on than just a murder mystery. Lacy has a secret admirer. So there is a romance angle going on too, but lets just say that secret admirer plays into the Cupid Killer mystery too.

I really loved that our three characters were a team when it comes to solving the mystery. I especially loved Ruby who felt like a more up to date Jessica Fletcher (you know, from Murder, She Wrote).

The ending blew me away, because I really couldn't figure out who the Cupid Killer was, and the way the killings took place was really unique.

This was a great read, and I cant wait to read the first book in the series.

About the Author

T.C. Wescott was born in Missouri but has lived in Oklahoma most of his life. Like pretty much every author who has ever breathed, he is an avid reader. His favorites are classic mysteries from the Golden Age, as well as just before or just after that period (which is widely considered the period between the two World Wars). His first mystery novel, Running from Scissors, was published in July 2018 and will be the first of at least three books in the Running Store Mystery series.
The Christmas Village Mystery series was launched in November with the debut title Slay Bells. The formula for his books is simple – mixing the classic, traditional detective fiction standards with all the trappings of the modern cozy mystery.
Wescott is also (under another name) the author of two award-winning non-fiction books as well as a slew of essays and articles.

He’s the plot twist she didn’t hear coming.

Becoming a book narrator was never my goal. But if your deep voice tempts romance listeners
to swoon and throw their proverbial panties at you, plans change.

When an unexpected chain of events rockets my easy-going and chill life in a completely
different direction, I tackle it like I do everything—with humor, wit, and a little bit of my “Hawk
Weaver” charm.

That’s not a hardship, though, because it means establishing a friendship with erotic romance
author, Donna Moreno. She’s a game changer. In all the best ways.

~

As an over-thirty single woman who writes erotica for a living, you would think I spend my days
fighting off every handsome, dirty-mouthed billionaire in a twenty-mile radius. I don’t. Sure, I
have a checklist for my ideal man who I write in my books. I just haven’t found “the one” in the
real world.

Todd Chimolski may not check all the boxes on my current list, but there’s something to be said
for a friend who makes you laugh and puts on a suit to make all your fantasies come true.
Hearing him bring the words I’ve written to life is nothing short of an eargasm, and that’s a box
I didn’t know I needed checked.

What happens when the woman who writes sexy romance and the man who narrates it build a friendship that quickly turns to more?

Review: Andrea Johnston is the reason I started reading romance again after a long slump.

hy?

Because her characters are real. B

By the time you finish reading the book, you'll feel like every character is a good friend.

This series, that she co-authors with M.E. Carter is beyond fabulous.

If you are a lover of romance novels, you can't let this book pass you by, or Switch Stance for that matter. Its a romance with a little peek inside the writing world.

This is Donna's story. Donna writes hot erotic romance with sexy billionaire heroes, but she longs to write a sweet small town romance a'la the Hallmark channel.

Todd is a whole lot more than he seems, being Aggie/Addie's bff and narrator, under the name Hawk Weaver.

Todd is the hero girls like me squee! about. I love that he's quirky and not traditionally handsome. I love his fashion sense, his sense of humor and his love of deviled eggs. Really, I just love everything about Todd. He's the sweet guy that you HAVE to fall in love with.

Donna is a former lawyer and she's got it all together, while still being "Normal." She's smart, sassy and well...Mr. Tuddles the cat is just...AHHHH.

These two are opposites, but they fit and the friendship that builds between them, as sparks fly really makes this a book worth reading.

Oh and you get to spend some time with Aggie and Spencer from Switch Stance too, which is a huge bonus. For those that read that book, you'll get to see how their relationship is progressing too.

Bonus!

I'm so full of warm, fuzzy feelings right now.

Book Review: Must Love Coffee

The first book in the highly anticipated 425 Madison series is now live! Read MUST LOVE COFFEE by Leigh Lennon today.

About Must Love Coffee
Gwen
I was stripped of all my own desires and wants when I was married to my ex-husband. I now carry a list with me—a list that will help me choose a man that will put me first in life. Then the storm cloud of an entitled millionaire appears in my life and knocks me off my axis. This man sends so many mixed signals, my body either quakes with anger or passion when I’m around him.

I'm his son's teacher and his tenant, but I find myself wanting more.

Leo
My life is run with precision with little regard for others until a woman in crazy clothes challenges me to be a better father. She’s one of the few people that puts me in my place and maybe for this very reason—I want her more than I can articulate. With her failed marriage and list of requests she needs from her next partner, I know she’s my future. My life is less than perfect, and with it—baggage that follows me everywhere. Does she want my kind of crazy in her life?

I'm her landlord and an a**hole, but  I find myself wanting more.

Where to begin? For starters, you must love coffee...

After all, 425 Madison Avenue is the perfect place to fall in love.

*Each story is completely standalone.

Review: I love short fast paced romances. Must Love Coffee was just that. Gwen and Leo were awesome, though Leo was hard to like at first, because of the type of persona he was conveying at the start and dear lord his language.

What made both characters endearing to me was their attention to their children, though it took Gwen opening a can of whoopass on him at the start to get him to be an more attentive father, though you can't question his caring for his children one bit.

Gwen is sweet, though there are times I marveled at her age, because her dialogue seemed a little young. In fact, the dialogue was probably the only thing that I had a problem with in both characters. Leo, for all his apparent alpha maleness, didn't talk like the type of guy that would be in his social position. The sexy talk between the two often came across as trying to make the story seem erotic, when really this was more of a sweet romance.

Gwen and Leo were great. I liked that Leo admits to his faults and flaws, especially when one of his mistakes involves Luna.

Both their respective exes were thoroughly repulsive, though Leo's ex wasn't quite as visible as Dwayne.

This was such a great read! I can't wait to read the next 425 Madison Ave book!

"Addison Cole has created characters you'll fall in love with and a seaside world you'll never want to leave." - USA Today bestselling author Chris Keniston

Review: Addison Cole is one of my go to authors. With each book I read, I always say I have a new favorite and this book was no different.

If you've read past books you'll already know Riley and Josh. We met them in Jade and Rex's story.  . Riley is a goal orient over achiever. Josh is a high powered fashion designer, that Riley's crushed on since high school.  I have to admit, I'm a sucker for these kinds of stories. Love that should have happened before, but for some reason things just weren't right at the time, even though they both liked one another. Addison Cole delivers these types of stories with ease.

Riley and Josh's story felt like a continuation Our Sweet Destiny. It was the natural progression.

This is a small town girl going to a big city story, complete with the drama that comes with being in the NYC fashion world. Claudia aka Cruella is about as nasty as you can get and its easy to see early on how she's going to make trouble for Riley.

Its a combination of sweet romance with all the jealousies and craziness of the real world.  The relationship between Riley and Josh was a little fast paced for me when you compare them with the other stories, but it didn't stop me from loving it any less.

Riley is just really a smart girl. I often felt she should have gone with her instincts more, especially with her relationship with Josh and with the type of woman Claudia was.

I have to admit the build up to the accusation of design theft left me feeling so nervous for Riley and very angry at Josh. I felt like he should have known better.

This is a definite must read for Addison Cole fans!

TLC Book Tours Book Review: Secrets at Cedar Cabin

Author: Colleen Coble
Title: Secrets at Cedar Cabin
Publisher: Thomas Nelson
Publish Date: Jan 22, 2019
Buy: Amazon
Book Blurb:
From USA TODAY bestselling author Colleen Coble comes the third book in her beloved Lavender Tides series.

Her mother lied about her identity and her husband wasn’t who she thought he was—can Bailey even trust herself anymore?

Running for her life in the wake of her mother’s murder, Bailey Fleming escapes to the only place she can think of—a remote, dilapidated cabin in Lavender Tides. Intending to finally get to the truth behind the lies of her past, Bailey only finds more questions when bodies are discovered near her cabin hideout along with traces of a dangerous human trafficking ring. In an unlikely partnership with FBI agent Lance Phoenix, Bailey races to understand the mystery surrounding her life and circumstances before the murderer tracks her down.

Meanwhile, Lance is determined to rescue his sister, Ava, who was abducted after running away from home as a teenager. An unexpected lead brings him to the remote cabin, and he wonders if Bailey—with her suspicious past and strange connections to his sister’s case—is really who she claims to be and if she can somehow lead him to Ava.

Review:  This book was the kind that when you start it, you won't be able to put down. I felt much the same way about The House at Saltwater Point which was a pretty amazing book.

In this book a nurse, Bailey Fleming is forced to give up her life when her mother is murdered and that murderer seems to be ready to kill her as well.

The Secrets at Cedar Cabin is book 3 in the Lavender Tides series. If you've followed the series, you'll meet a lot of familiar faces here. Lance, Grayson, Shauna and Ellie are all here as Bailey tries to figure out the mystery of her past, while Lance and company try to break up a human trafficking ring that just may have something to do with the disappearance of his sister Ava 5 years prior.

Bailey figures in with Grayson and Shauna's past who are siblings reunited in previous books.

The suspense builds from the very beginning and as more of the trafficking ring is revealed things really heat up.

The only issue I had with this book was the crazy amount of points of view that Colleen had going on. I understand that it helped tie things together with the story lines from the other books in the series, but it did make things a bit confusing at times.

Bailey's story was definitely an interesting one, even without the parts we know from the other books in this series. She's smart, kind and loyal. Her attachment to Lily really gives the reader the "feels." Though her health diagnosis was a bit unbelievable but necessary for a HEA.

Colleen Coble really is a master of  the Christian thriller. God and faith are important to the characters but faith doesn't carry the story.  This book kept me on the edge of my seat, worrying about what might happen to Bailey and would Ava and her family be reunited.

It was the perfect conclusion to this series.
