Book Blogger Hop

Book Blogger Hop
I haven't hopped in awhile, so I thought I'd jump in this week.

The Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Jen @ Crazy For Books

Each week she also provides us with a "getting to know you question". Here is this week's question.

"What are your feelings on losing followers? Have you ever stopped following a blog?"

In answer to that question, I really don't care. I'd like to have a lot of followers, but I'd prefer to have a few that stopped by regularly and left comments, then a whole bunch that didn't. It feels too much like a popularity contest when you are worried about OMG I have 950 followers!!! Especially when most of those followers are following because of a giveaway. Guess what? When that giveaway is over that follower likely doesn't care anymore.

I started a book blog because I wanted to share my love of reading and my thoughts on books with whoever wants to read. It is as simple as that.

Have I ever stopped following a blog? Yes! I'm sure we all have. I follow a lot of blogs, friends, book bloggers, music blogs. If something doesn't hold my interest anymore, I'll probably stop following.

And I usually try to comment when I see a post that interests me, or a review of something that I've wanted to read. I may not comment everyday but I try.

So if you are here via the Hop, feel free to check out my reviews. I read a lot of everything. I like romance, mystery, YA, fantasty....see what I mean. I go for a book because of an interesting plot. Which is why I usually get lost in Barnes and Noble, Books A Million or Borders for hours.

The commenting thing is the key -- you can have a thousand followers, but if no one comments...you know? I like your blog name! Here's my Hop: Coffee and a Book Chick -- Blog Hop...

I'm always a little bummed when I lose followers but make every effort to
turn every lost follower into a learning experience so I can improve my
performance.

On the flip side, I only stop following people when they give me a reason to
such as being totally off message or being too controversial in an negative,
over-the-top way.

Happy Book Blogger Hop Friday!

You're so right. I'd rather have a few loyal followers than a bunch of wishy-washy ones.

Glad to have found you via the Hop!

Who doesn't love comments! I would also prefer five regular commentors over twenty followers. Its so much more fun when everybody says what they are thinking.

Stopping in from the Hop. I think your answer is awesome! That's pretty much how I feel also. Comments mean far more to me, I love getting new comments. I love talking about books. I'm not really worried about followers and following!
Happy weekend :)
